Art of Defiance: Protest Graphics and Poetry for Palestine explores graphic art and poetry as tools of resistance in the struggle for Palestinian liberation. This volume is rooted in the vision of The Freedom Theater’s directors, Juliano Mer-Khamis and Ahmed Tobasi, who foresaw that “the third intifada will be a cultural, artistic intifada. We want to fight through theater, through art, through music, through dance, and through poetry.”

Poets include: Refaat Alareer, susan abulhawa, Khaled Mattawa, Ahmad Alsouq, Basman Aldirawi, Ibrahim Yaghi, Hiba Abu Nada, Omar Faris Abu Shaweesh, meital yaniv, Huda Skaik, Saul Williams, Def Sound, Alexandra Isfahani-Hammond and others.
